Childersburg Volleyball finishes second in Area Tournament, advances to Sub-Regional

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. - Childersburg picked the right time to break through against Talladega.

After losing both regular-season meetings, the Tigers outlasted Talladega in five sets in the area volleyball tournament semifinals to secure a place in the Class 3A South Sub-Regional.

The victory sent Childersburg to the area championship against Munford, but the Tigers could not carry that success into the final.

The Lions had swept both previous matchups and delivered another 3-0 win to capture the area title. Childersburg finished as the runner-up, setting up a road trip for the next round.

The Tigers will travel to West Blocton for their Class 3A South Sub-Regional match on Monday, October 19, at 6 p.m.
